We wanted to share a couple of similarities and differences we all have based on the answers we gave.

Trends:

  • We all live in North Carolina
  • We have all had similar classes not only this semester but in previous semesters.
  • With the concentration of Media, we all had an interest in Social Media.
  • We all had previous career goals and or majors. We started either at NC State or other previous schools with a destinated Major path, we then switched to a Communication major.
  • We all discussed that one of the most valuable skills we have learned by being involved in the communication department is that we know that there are several different types of people, approaches, and techniques that are used to address a situation. We know that not all types of communication are the same but all techniques are valuable in developing the term “communication”
  • We all want to use our degree mostly for some type of marketing and or journalism. There are several ways to use our degree but we all mostly have the same goals and or similar career paths.

Comparisons:

  • We are not all from the same area.
  • We all have different interests. While some of our interests are the same we do not share all the same interests.
  • We all favor different courses that we’ve taken at NC State. Some of us enjoyed other communication classes the best and others enjoyed other course requirements that were needed to complete the communication degree.
  • We are not all Communication majors with a concentration in Media. The other concentration of communication is Public Relations
  • While we all have similar career paths, not a single career path is the same. With communication, the careers are so diverse and there are so many options to choose from to use your degree. It is interesting to see that even though we all have the same major, we all have different ideas about what we want to do with it.
